The Benefits of Having Counselling/Psychotherapy

In counselling/psychotherapy, we consider your relationship with yourself on the inside – for example, your patterns of thinking, how you talk to yourself, your emotional and physical landscape.

In building self-awareness, you can improve your self-esteem, self-compassion and confidence, and deepen your sense of personal power.

At the emotional level, you can recover from traumatic experiences, learn how to manage difficult emotions, such as anger, grief or fear, and grow a sense of emotional wellbeing and self-trust. You can also heal your relationship with your body.

We will look at your patterns of behaviour - those that work for you and those that don’t. By making changes in how you act in the world, you can learn to manage stressful situations, increase your assertiveness and develop strategies to achieve what you want in your life.

Working in this way can lead to a deeper and more satisfying relationship with yourself, which is the foundation for creating better relationships with other people. Many people see improvements in their communication and intimacy skills through having counselling/psychotherapy.

Combining energy healing with psychotherapy can help bring additional levels of healing and transformation and support a greater sense of embodiment and resolution of unfinished business held within the psyche.

Testimonial

“Towards the end of 2019, I had a difficult time and I had some doubts, fears and worries that were affecting my life and relationships.  I had some reservations about seeking counselling and the cost of the sessions. What drew me initially to Miche was her use of bushcraft and engaging with nature to help clients.  Organising a date took a bit of time because of my work commitments, so I was really nervous on my first visit but Miche’s open and honest approach helped me relax and talk.

Miche is really patient and understanding but doesn’t allow you to retreat in to yourself, instead helps you to open up and realise what your strengths and weakness are, by first being honest with yourself.  Miche does not patronise you, she guides and encourages even sometimes challenges you to seek understanding without allowing you to walk away from fears but to confront them and learn from them.

My reservations about seeking counselling were gone by our second session and I can honestly say, it was worth every penny.  We all have doubts, fears and regrets - Miche helped me to appreciate them and strive to be better. By understanding myself I have become a better husband, father and person.”
