“Inner Child / Younger Self” Process Work

Most of us have had experiences in our earlier lives where we didn’t get what we needed to process the experience fully.

Perhaps the people around us couldn’t give us love, safety, security, care after trauma, an empathic ear or responsive nurturing, to help us understand and resolve what was happening to us. Perhaps the people around us were the cause of those difficulties in the first place.

This “unfinished business” which we haven’t been able to process can leave us:

  • feeling stuck in repeating emotional patterns

  • traumatised

  • conflicted on the inside

  • unable to identify our own needs

  • feeling ashamed of feeling ‘needy’

  • experiencing difficulties in finding our ‘adult form’ in particular situations, or in life in general

In “Inner Child / Younger Self” process work, we use imagination, felt sense and visualisation to visit these younger parts, supporting them to move to resolution. This can help you:

  • reclaim lost parts of yourself

  • resolve the echoes of trauma

  • undo triggers

  • regain and build competence as an adult

  • grow in self-love, compassion and self-esteem

Clients report that, when woven into regular therapy, this process helps them to move forward in leaps and bounds. It is particularly helpful for those with early traumatic experiences that have shaped their lives in some way. In my experience, this work can be deep and impactful and can enhance progression in psychotherapy.

Sessions are available either as part of regular psychotherapy (£60 - £75 per 50 min session) or as stand-alone healing sessions (£95 for 80-90 minutes).

Please feel free to get in touch to discuss if this way of working might be helpful for you or to book a session. Thank you.
